This past week Brain Tumor Network nurse navigators, Cathy and Laura, attended the 8th Annual Navigation and Survivorship Conference hosted by the Academy of Oncology Nurse and Patient Navigators (AONN) in Orlando, Florida. “AONN is the largest national specialty organization dedicated to improving patient care and quality of life by defining, enhancing, and promoting the role of oncology nurse and patient navigators.” – AONN.

The two attended seminars which explored the benefit of patient navigation programs across various tumor site programs. Further discussions investigated how patient navigation programs can help generate access to care, reduce cancer disparities, and facilitate value based care.

Our navigators brought back a wealth of knowledge, and they are excited to share their experiences with BTN team members, patients, and caregivers.
